Intimate Camano Island State Park Wedding
About this Intimate Spring Camano Island Wedding
B & S travelled all the way from Anchorage, Alaska to elope in Washington State! They fell in love with this state calling it the “lite” version of Alaska. Camano Island State Park held so many memories for them and was a special place, that they new they wanted to get married there.
They reserved the group campsite for their wedding weekend with their closest friends and family for their elopement. They got ready together in some of the cabins within the state park and did some getting ready photos.
Afterwards, we explored the park a bit before heading down to the beach for their intimate wedding ceremony. They reserved the cabin down by the water for their reception where they spent the afternoon soaking up their day with lots of food, laughter, and love from their family.
We then strolled down to the beach again where we got the most stunning, stormy sunset and got some more photos of these two. I had an absolute blast photographing this incredible intimate wedding!

Best Camano Island Wedding Venues
Here are some of the best Camano Island wedding venues if you’re considering getting married on the island.
1. Camano Island State Park
This is where this wedding took place, and honestly it's hard to beat. Camano Island State Park sits right on Puget Sound with old-growth forest, rocky beaches, and the kind of quiet that makes a ceremony feel sacred. A Washington State Parks Special Use Permit is required for ceremonies and lot’s of planning ahead to reserve group sites of day use spots, so plan ahead!
2. The Finery on Camano
Five private forested acres on the northwest side of the island, with a greenhouse bar, covered ceremony and reception areas, a huge wood-burning fire pit. The Finery accommodates up to 50 guests, making it a perfect fit for micro-weddings and elopements with a small guest list.
3. Camano Center
Accommodates up to 200 guests with an indoor reception hall, outdoor amphitheater for ceremonies, bridal suite, onsite catering, and basically everything you need already on site. Close enough to the park and beach that you can sneak away for a few portraits before the reception too.
Kind Words From the Couple
“Doug was a professional. Several of our guests told us he was a gem. I couldn’t agree more. There was no guess work. He coached us through in a way I appreciated. A special talent since I DO NOT like being told what to do. He was compassionate, sincere and absolutely queer family friendly. I love you Doug!! Thanks for the beautiful work.”
