I've photographed proposals and engagement sessions all across Washington, and the couples who didn't have a photographer when they proposed often say they wished they had photos of that moment.

Hi! I’m Doug.

I became an elopement photographer but somewhere along the way, proposals and engagement sessions have become one of my favorite things to photograph.

There's nothing quite like pretending to bird watch, or blending in with the crowd, waiting for you to get down on one knee and then spending the next few hours getting photos the two of you will love.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

I’ve photographed them in 2 ways. The first is I arrive early and find a spot to blend in and wait for you and your partner to come into sight and I capture everything from the question through the first few minutes of celebrating. Then we transition into a proper engagement session together. The second way is you and your partner are getting a “couples shoot” and then I capture the moment you propose.
This is the most common thing I hear and it has never once been true! My whole approach is built around making you forget I'm there. I'll give you direction when you need it and back off when you don't.
We shoot in the rain! The PNW is moody and dramatic and honestly makes for incredible photos. I'll only reschedule if the weather is genuinely unsafe.
Absolutely! Just let me know in advance so I can factor them into location recommendations (some trail and park areas like National Parks have leash rules or restrictions).
