About this Ballard Locks Wedding
D & W had such a magical wedding in Ballard with their closest friends and family! Dakota and Walker are two people who are unabashedly themselves. They are full of unique ideas, all of which came to light on their wedding day.
They got ready with their closest friends before I got to join them at their wedding venue at The Canal in Ballard. This unique venue is perched on the edge of the water right next to the Ballard Locks and covered in stained glass and murals.
These two had a simple wedding ceremony in which each member of their wedding party stood and blessed them. They added unique traditions such as hand fasting for part of their wedding ceremony before officially tying the knot! We then moved to a reception full of love from all sides with speeches from their parents and friends.
They cut the cake and went straight to dancing ending until 9:00pm. I was not prepared for this, but they added karaoke singing at the end of their night with their friends!
What was evident was how much joy shone through their day.Throughout everything they did during their wedding day, they lead with joy and love. I had an incredible time capturing their wedding and am so thankful for their trust! Congrats again D & W!

The Canal - This location is my favorite, and the place that this couple got married in! This stunning waterfront venue right on the Ballard Locks with sweeping views, a spacious ballroom, and a romantic outdoor patio that’s perfect for ceremonies or cocktail hours by the water.
Sunset Bay Lodge at the Ballard Elks - This venue is located between Ballard and Golden Gardens Park. This venue has a beautiful banquet room but can also rent the main lawn, the beach club, and the outdoor patio for larger wedding events. This large venue helps accommodate up to 350 seated guests!
Another great and affordable venue in Ballard is in the Ballard Locks itself! You can actually rent out the East and North Lawn, the Rose Garden, and the Stage Lawn!
