K & B reached out to me as they wanted an intimate wedding with their friends and family at Deception Pass State Park and wanted a venue that could accommodate their guests. They chose to have their wedding at Cornet Bay Retreat Center as it was in the perfect location in the park and allowed their loved ones to stay on the property with them!
They shared a beautiful ceremony at the amphitheater overlooking Cornet Bay before heading back to the main lodge and hosting a reception. They did a beautiful sand pouring, where it represented their two sides blending and becoming one.
They then shared some laughs, toasts, and some delicious food. I met up with them the next day to do some sunrise photos at some of my favorite locations in Deception Pass where they did some dancing and watched the sunrise together on their first morning as a married couple.
It’s no secret that Deception Pass is in my top places to elope in Washington as this park is always filled with magic. I had an incredible time photographing this beautiful couple and am so thankful for their trust!

About Cornet Bay Retreat Center
Cornet Bay Retreat Center is located in Deception Pass State Park on the South East end of Whidbey Island, Washington and overlooks Cornet Bay. It has a beautiful outdoor amphitheater with a firepit over looking the bay. It is also surrounded by many hiking trails covering all of the state park!
Amenities that Cornet Bay Retreat Center offers: This is a small but mighty event space! The main lodge offers a stocked kitchen with a walk-in fridge and a regular fridge, and plenty of storage. The bunkhouses accommodates 70 guests with access to restrooms and showers. Linens are not provided however, so bring your own!

“Doug photographed our wedding on 8/24/25 at Deception Pass State Park at the Cornet Bay Retreat Center. Prior to our wedding day, Doug met with us several times to get to know us, discuss our vision for the wedding day, and to know what we like in photos. Doug was very attentive to everything we told him including our dislikes. Doug also helped us to get in contact with other vendors based on our wants. He provided a list for caterers, florists, and hair and makeup artists. Again, these were all tailored to us. We told Doug that we wanted to do sunrise photos the next morning (paid a bit extra), and he took our suggestions and found the most beautiful location at Rosario Head. Doug also worked very hard to engage our son, and get smiles from him in photos. I cannot recommend Doug and Sea to Summit Photography enough. Ten out of ten I want to find other ways to be able to use Doug as a photographer in the future!!!!
