Adventurous Olympic Peninsula Elopement in the Forest & on the Coast
About this Olympic Peninsula Elopement
A & J travelled all the way from North Carolina to elope in Olympic National Park! John was stationed in the military in Washington and they both dreamed of eloping in a state that was meaningful to them both. As Dungeons and Dragons fans, they rolled the D20 dice on the weather, and somewhat won for a March elopement in the Hoh Rainforest.
They got ready in their tiny AirBnB home where they finished writing their vows. We then went to the National Forest (as the park is indefinitely closed due to washout) and found some beautiful Hoh Rainforest-like trees! It began to rain heavily, so we pulled out some umbrellas and an Ikea bag that we cut holes out of to "hold" her wedding dress and prevent it from getting muddy! Once at their ceremony spot, they shared their vows, shared a few tears and some laughter before saying "I do!".
We went back to the car so they could change out of their wedding clothes as they wanted to do the rest of the hike. We had to ditch our plan of an outdoor picnic as all of our waterproof weather no longer became waterproof. The couple went back to their AirBnB for a bit of a break and to dry off before heading out to the beach for their second part of their elopement.
This is where we finally lucked out on the weather! The sun came out and the couple got to explore the beach without the worry of the rain. They ate cake with their hands and soaked up their elopement day. It was truly a magical day!
